@DELL-ChrisM2Update: I updated my MacBook to Tahoe 26.2 overnight and tried again today, and the U2725QE firmware update was successful on the first try. So great news there.
One subsequent issue I ran into: Immediately after updating the firmware, the display would not recognize the Thunderbolt-C connection. It started intermittently dropping out, and then after trying to reconnect the cable, it would not connect at all. This persisted after repeated attempts to connect/disconnect the TB cable. Finally, I tried a full power-down/up cycle on the monitor (unplug the power cable, hold down the power button for 8 seconds, then reconnect the power cable), and the issue resolved.
Hopefully, this helps others experiencing the same issue.
@DELL-ChrisM2 This points to a different issue/error message than what @tombakand I are experiencing. Please see my comment on the original post for more info.
I'm having the exact same issue with this monitor on my M3 Macbook Air on MacOS 26.1 - just as you described. I've tried all the same troubleshooting as you, with the addition of:
- Uninstall/reinstall DDPM
- Disconnect and full power-down and restart of the display (unplug and hold down the power button).
Good work! Any time a monitor firmware update is run, I recommend = unplug the power cable, hold down the power button for 8 seconds, then reconnect the power cable

The only current workaround I have seen is to use a Windows OS Laptop with TB/USB-C and install the Windows OS firmware M2T102.

I can confirm now that after recent MacOS Tahoe 26.2 update I was able to update my monitor, everything's fine now.
