U3818DW, issues with non-supported Apple MacBook

Hi Dell forum! I have a Dell U3818DW monitor. I'm aware of a previous thread about the subject. As well as a thread on Reddit about it. I've upgraded my firmware from M3B103 to M3B105, but the problem still persists. Keeps waking up my MacBook Pro 13" late 2018. It's a really really annoying issue, especially when you pay a fortune like this for a monitor. I also have a LG LG 38WK95 which has absolutely no issues at all! Any tips to get rid of this issue? Are Dell actually looking into solving this?

For Apple, no. As I stated on the previous thread, Dell is not going to troubleshoot our monitors on Apple. The U3818DW M3B105 firmware specifically shows it was for non-Dell Windows based PC's. Even the file name has Windows in it =
(Dell_U3818DW_FWUpdate_M3B105_Windows.zip)

You should read the U3818DW threads on the Apple Forum and see what other Apple users have done as far as Apple PC troubleshooting and possible Apple proprietary cabling to purchase. If need be, sign in there and start a new thread.

While so many people are using these monitors with Apple computers, it might be a good thing for Dell to look into fixing this, don't you think? Is it possible you would pass that on? Now, I know Techradar is not Dell, but I actually bought the monitor because of the recommendation here. https://www.techradar.com/deals/the-best-usb-c-monitor-2018-the-best-deals-for-macbook-pro-and-windows-laptops It seems Dell has a lot of customers using Apple Macbooks and equipment, myself inclusive. How about solving their issues, instead of just indirectly asking them to never buy Dell again? That's the feeling I'm getting and the consequence this will have (not from your response, but for Dells lack of action!)

And thanks for the search link by the way. I will try that out! Discovered yesterday, that if I turn off the monitor using the on/off button on the monitor it self, it stops waking my MacBook up all the time. For now, everytime I leave my MacBook I'll do that, instead of unplugging it from the monitor (still annoying though!)
