U3821DW, two PC, powering question

I have two PC connected to my U3821DW. One through USB-C upstream port (Windows machine) and the other via HDMI and USB upstream port (macOS machine).

When I turn on the Mac, it will not turn on the U3821DW automatically. I have to turn on the U3821DW manually but in doing so it will automatically turn on my Windows machine.

Is there any way I can have theU3821DW automatically turn on once my Mac is turned on or have it so that turning on the monitor manually does not trigger the Windows machine to power on?

Thanks

Found my answer here U2722DE, disabling DPBS? , it’s the Dell Power Button Sync feature. Basically it can’t be turned off pretty poor decision on the part of Dell hopefully one day a firmware update is released to disable it.

First, open the online U3821DW User's Guide. Go to pages 11/12. Now tell us how both PC are connecting using the numbers on those pages.

Second, you state turn on the U3821DW. Are you saying that the U3821DW is powered off via the power button? And you want a PC to power the monitor on?

PC  #1 connected to number 6

PC #2 connected to numbers 3 & 8

The monitor is off and not in standby is my understanding, when I turn on PC #1 it will automatically turn on the monitor. I would like PC #2 to do the same thing, when I turn on PC #2 the monitor stays off so I have to manually turn on the monitor but when I turn on the monitor it will automatically turn on PC #1 which I don’t want it to do in this case.

Welcome to the crazy world of Dell where, as you've discovered, you cannot use the monitor without the Windows machine powered on. Surely, the green lobbyists will eventually get a handle on this insanity?

This is driving me crazy too. I use my Dell laptop for work and have my main system running too. When I turn off the dell laptop the monitor turns off and I can't use it with my main rig. (all connected through DP).

To make it work I need to disconnect the USB-C to my laptop and manually turn on the screen.

Disabling DPBS would be an amazing feature!
