U4323QE monitor: USB A rear port stopped working for camera and keyboard

I have a Dell U4323QE monitor purchased April 2024 connected to a Dell inspiron 16 plus 7630 using the USB C upstream port (90W) for audio, video, data and charging. I have a USB camera and my USB wired keyboard connected each to one of the rear USB A ports.  Everything has been working fine until recently. First the camera stopped being recognized at all. I had to instead connect it to my laptop directly for it to work. Now, the keyboard is 'hanging up' randomly. Numlock is lit, but no keystrokes work. If I unplug and replug its cable in the rear port, it comes back alive. I'm worried the internal USB hub is starting to fail. How can I figure this out?

First thing to try is a new good-quality USB upstream (PC to monitor) cable.
