Exchange2010 via plugin or NMM2.3?
Hi all,
In the latest NetWorker compatibility guide (dec 7th, 2011), the only 2 options to backup an Exchange 2010 is via the NME2010 or via NMM2.3.
When looking at the part of "EMC NetWorker Plug-in for Exchange Server 2010" it is pointing to technical note with all its limitations and so on.
It also notes that the Exchange server 2010 will be added in NMM2.3
When looking at the part of "EMC NetWorker Module for Microsoft Applications (NMM)" it already has NMM2.3 added. So I assume it is already released.
However, I can't find a note in this part to the technical note. Does this mean that the limitations for the plugin are not applicable for the NMM2.3?
Anyway, which would be the best method to backup an Exchange server 2010? Using the plugin or using NMM2.3?
Kind regards

Hi,
To use NMM 2.3 should be your first choice.
The plugin solution by nsr_exchange2010.exe was only a interim solution of EMC to support Exchange 2010.
The latest release of NMM 2.3 is available by Powerlink and supports Exchange 2010 with a few limitations (database and log file must be in different folder locations).
Configuration of NMM 2.3 with Exchange 2010 is not that easy as some other modules have been.
Please read the documentation (also available from Powerlink) carefully, especially the Instalaltion, Administration and Application Guide.
