Hi,

Based on the error message "Error i2c_write_2b: No such device or address', this might be related to the RAM internally which might need to be verified if RAM can still be recovered by the support engineer L2. If it is not possible to recover, then the switch need to be replaced.

We just got the switch and it was working until we tried doing a factory reset since we didn't have the password.  Wouldn't live recovery boot fail if there were faulty ram?  We were in ONIE and Grub prior to the attempted factory reset

Hello,

not necessarily. Live recovery boot uses a minimal environment and does not stress or fully utilize system RAM the same way a full NOS installation does. Even with faulty RAM, the system can sometimes boot into ONIE or rescue mode because those processes are lightweight and run from USB or embedded storage.

I understand, well at this point I have recompiled the installer and have bypassed the checks, so now I am working on the partitions and will try the patched installer shortly to see if it still throws errors

Hello @jmf_florida,

May I know how you solve the issue, because I am currently facing the same issue.
