Power Connect 5524 - Port Mirroring

Question

Recently we ordered a Dell Powerconnect 5524 and I had the intention of setting up this switch with some mirrored port. After I have added 4 ports to the mirror I get the following message.

"Too many monitoring sessions.."

I have read in another articale, that they were able to add more than 4 port to a mirror but only after they updated the firmware. I was hopping that doing the same might fix said issue. How ever after the update I still run into the same issue. So am I just stuck with only being able to Mirror 4 ports on the 5524 or is there a way to fix this to use more than 4 ports?

I have attempted to do as you suggest and set the ports to a single Transmission Type (Tx or Rx) I have a total of 6 possible connections to the switch that could be used to mirror.

My first attempt was to set Ports 19 thru 24 as my mirrored ports. After receiving your info from above, I attempted to set the 1x port as a Rx port (port 19). Then the other 5 ports to just Tx. (Ports 20,21,22,23,24). However if I try to add more than 4 ports to the mirror I get the the same error as before.

I have been attempting to find out if this might be a security feature or perhaps just something that I am not doing correct but, as of now I have had no luck. Is it possible that the 5548 supports this function, due to having double the ports, and it is not functional with more than 4 ports on the 5524?

After running the above command 'show ports monitor' I received the following response:

Currently I have the destination port set to 19'. I only used 19' after I was only able to use 4 ports. Originally, when I was going to have 6 ports, I had set port 18' as the destination.
