Setting changed in web interface are lost after rebooting the PowerConnect 3424 switch.Pls help!!!

Hi Guys,

I set up an account at level 15 in local user database, according the user guide, this user should be able to log on the switch by web interface (http or https) to execute whatever privilege rights. Unfortunately, this does not work for me, I have no problem to log on the switch web interface, the problem is whatever I changed in the setting will be lost after rebooting the switch.

Anyone can help me on this?

Thanks

First of all, real men use command line.  Secondly, you need to go to System>File Management>Copy Files and copy the running-config to the startup-config.  If you were using the command line, at the console# prompt type 'copy run start' and that will let you reboot the switch without losing data.  Clicking on Apply Changes only applies it to the running-config.

Thanks for your help. It looks everything I can save now except the time synchronization, when I select "Clock Source" to none, then try to set date and Local time in "Local settings", it never saved. After talk to a Dell support, he said the only way I can set time properly is by setup SNTP server. If I did not use SNTP, setting will lost after switch reboot.

That is correct.  There is no CMOS battery in the switch that will save the time.
