I've tried it on different networks, I've done a  reset of windows, and I've uninstalled and reloaded the driver...

Hi pubtrubl,

When it messes up on the wired connection are you using the wireless connection at the same time? And also have you tried using a different ethernet cable (I am sure you have but just checking)? When you try different networks are these ones at different locations (just trying to rule out some other config issue)?

Also, what OS are you running? And when it fails (and even shows still plugged in), does it say connection lost/no internet or does it seem to not notice but you notice since it is not working? Do you know if the machine is still showing an IP address on the network/or even at the system level? And lastly, instead of unplugging the cable does renewing the IP address on the system have any change?

Sorry for all of the questions, I am just trying to see what we can try on this to rule out a bad ethernet port.

Another option in addition to these troubleshooting questions, is to try running diagnostics on the ethernet port: http://dell.to/2dPjmmI at this link you can enter your Service Tag to get specific tests.

Best regards,

Brad
