Laptop not automatically switching to Wired connection over Wireless when docking.

I'm having an issue where the laptop stays on the wireless connection after being docked into a station with a hardwired connection. BIOS is up to date as well as NIC drivers. I have been unable to find anything related to this issue. Is there a fix to this issue?  Thank you.

Hi felicg,

I know this isn't exactly what you were looking for, but a quick fix would be to disable the wifi using fn + print screen to turn the radio off before docking (and then turn it back on once off the dock).

If you can let me know what OS your system is using along with what nic and wifi card the system has, I can look into this further (I know there were ways to automate this/change settings for the system to favor ethernet when docked), but I would need to know this information to look into this further to see if it can still be done. I know currently on my system that is docked (an E7240) it is stating that it is connected on both wifi/nic, but doing a speedtest it is clearly using ethernet over wifi (hitting over 400 Mb/s on Internet)..., but I definitely understand it being a problem if your system is favoring wifi vs ethernet.

Best regards,

Brad
