Try booting to Safe Mode with Network support. If it works from there, it tells you that something running from startup in Normal mode is blocking the connection.
Also, to help troubleshoot this problem, go to Start > Run and type
cmd then click OK. In the command prompt window that opens, type
ipconfig /all then hit the enter key. Write down the output from this command or select it and save it to a txt file, then copy this output into a reply to this message.
I tried the safe mode, and still the same results. I changed the home page to the default page and still no change. Here is the listing when I run ipconfig /all
Your node type has been changed to peer to peer (it should be mixed). There are two possible ways to fix this.
First try this - open Network Connections, right click your wireless connection, then select Properties. Click on the Wireless Networks tab, then click on the Advanced button. Where it says "Networks to access" make sure that "Any available network" is slelcted.
If that doesn't work, try the suggestion involving editing the registry in the following post:
Thank you for your assistance. I was able to get the network visible and working after running through the registry editor. The only thing I am not sure of is that you said that the node type should be mixed, it is coming up now as "broadcast". The desktop pc's that I have show a node type as unknown.
