Internet Explorer

I have been getting the message "Internet Explorer has stopped working.  A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.  Windows will close the program and notify you of a solution.   I click on 'close program.  The message goes away, and  the program stays open.  ??  Any help out there?

This seems to be a recurring problem with IE7 and IE8.  I have had this happen several times on all my machines....VISTA and XP.  At one point they were doing it 1 or 2 times a day, others 1 or 2 a week.  Now it rarely happens, but it does happen occassionally.

I did not do anything so I don't know if it was an update, or whatever.

I do admit I switched all the computers (except 1...but 7 of 8 I did) over to FIREFOX.  It has only crashed on me 2 times on all my PCs and both were after updates from FIREFOX.  It's a nice browser, so you can give it a try if IE keeps crashing.

Hi Tom.

Please try re-setting Internet explorer to default settings. This can be done by running Microsoft Fix it which will diagnose and repair issues with Internet explorer.

MS fix it link: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/ie_performance_and_safety

Do reply with the results.
