No Graphics
I have a Dimension 2350 and my display does not display the colors and graphics on web pages or applications. MS windows, the windows them selves look fine but not applications or web pages. Like right now above what I am typing are a string of empty boxes. The only ones I can see contents of are a piece of film, a smiley face and the word paragraph. There are no bacground colors either. the word Search but no box to write in, just a little verticle line at each end of where the search would be typed in.
Any Ideas?

The first thing that comes to mind is the video driver, which can be downloaded from here.
If that does not work, then I suspect a corruption of the OS. You might try booting to safe mode and see if everthing there appears properly. If not, then there may be a hardware issue. But let's take it one step at a time.
I have lots of experience with various 2350s. It's a good basic model and still good enough for most everyday use.

I downloaded and installed the video driver. No change. Going to try safe mode.

get a new PC or try reinstalling the OS (with dell disks). could be hard drive, gpu, or software corruption. Back up first!

Hi Osprey,
Did the safe mode, didn't see any difference. Been all over all of the options tools etc.. allowed in the software and windows and xp. It also is noticeable in Word like the multicolored "office button" is not multicolored and the word window looks kind of like it is in safe mode already. Don't have the $$ to do much else so not sure what to do next. Probably use as is until I can pull together some extra cash.

Back up, meaning saving all files that you need on to a hard drive, cd/dvd, or thumb drive. If you have your dell disks that came with the pc reinstall windows, and run the cds to put the drivers back on. That SHOULD work. If you don't have the cd's you can get them at dell. You may also try linux, specifically linuxmint http://www.linuxmint.com/edition.php?id=44 download the "iso" then download imgburn, http://www.filehippo.com/download_imgburn/ to burn the iso to a cd ( you need a cd burner) boot from the cd (F2, F12, or del at the bios screen) If this is foreign to you I recommend finding a geeky friend they should be able to help. good luck
