Blue screen UNFIXABLE

I bought a OptiPlex 7000 Small Form Factor on November 2022. I love it, it works great

Until the end of 2023 when I started seeing a blue screen error everytime I tried watching Netflix, Prime Video or Apple TV.

I contacted the customer service 3 times.

I eve sent my computer back to Dell to get it fixed

The problem was fixed for a few weeks and came back again

The customer service ended up telling me that they could'nt fix it for free, I would have to find myself someone that could come to my house to fix it.

So for more than a year now, I cannot watch any show on my computer, and lately (last 2-3 weeks) the blue screen started to appear in other random website.

Everytime the blue screen happens, my computer shuts down and I lose whatever I was doing.

It is so frustrating that I bought a 2000$ computer and I got a lemon

I would appreciate so much if I could get another 'normal" fonctionning computer, I feel that it's only fair

I have some experience with BSOD's.  Test the 3v size 2032 MB battery and make sure it's still good.  If it's bad, it's affecting BIOS and therefore PC operation.  I kept getting BSOD's last year when I had a low battery.

After making sure the battery in the system is 3v, if you're still getting BSOD, OS may need reloading.  Not sure if that was done already.  On a different PC, I was getting BSOD's even though the battery was good.  Only way past BSOD I could find was to reload.

If I remember right, another Rockstar does say if you turn it on and have BSOD 3x in a row, repair option comes up.

I take it that your 7000 has only 1 drive with OS and not 2 or more.

@bradthetechnut thank you so much ! however, I don't understand a thing you are saying :) I am not a computer person, I just want Dell to make sure their product works...

Hi

If DELL are refusing to fix your machine, then you either live with it, or pay for a repair by dell or a 3rd party, or try and resolve some of the issues yourself.

At the end of the article is a picture of the Main Board with item 5 being a coup£a-quid coin cell that can be replaced.

@ASM4444  BSOD = blue screen of death; OS = operating system

Hi

So I am going to presume 2022 means W11 OS, and a BSOD could be photographed and the picture posted, because it may very well have an error code/number included.

Obviously make backups of all your data and consider a re-install of the OS.

True, BSOD's often have an error code.  Typically doesn't do any good though.  One can Google it and find all kinds of fixes that don't work.  Reinstalling OS is typically the way to go.
