There are more powerful like 750W and 1000W PSU may work for Dell Optiplex 7000 MT,but they have different size.

There are Dell part numbers on parts,buy parts through the part numbers and you will not get a false part

You also can search parts through dell service tag on dell site,you will find the right one.

The blue 3.5 caddy is for top or horizontal hdd cage .  The hdd is installed after removing front bezel and emi shield much like installing half height optical  drive.

there is a second vertical 3.5 hdd cage aka bracket/caddy which Dell uses for secondary hdd. It does not use blue caddy. Hdd is directly mounted in this cage using 4 side screws.  DP/N for this cage or metal caddy is

@redxps630​ I have the optical drives, so I believe I would need the vertical brackets along with the 3.5" blue trays. Because they blue tray won't fit alongside the dvd drive correct?

You can use either the blue caddy for the top horizontal hdd cage or the vertical metal bracket when you have the slim optical drive.  The odd is installed on top of the existing horizontal hdd cage and does not interfere with the blue caddy.

the blue caddy would not fit the vertical hdd bracket.

The 2.5" SDD Caddies: Dell YHNFX, how are they different from the X9FV3 caddy? I ask because there is a major price difference.

So far I have bought the card readers, M.2 wifi 7 cards, internal antennas, dp cables, nvme screw kit, pci slot blanks, sata cables and now I have the ssd & hdd caddies left. I may buy a psu and cpu cooler but I'm on the fence on those. I have a 500w platinum in one of the ones in the room and the other has a 240w with the small cpu cooler. 

Let me take a look at it.  The two kinds of 2.5 caddy are from quite different generations of Dell D10 vs D7.  Dell price is quite different too, one being 2x the other.

X9FV3 is for older Optiplex 7050 etc. tower.  I am not certain it would fit the new Optiplex 7000/7080/7090 tower.

The older 2.5 caddy has a simple raised flat and a spring load mechanism on the side

The newer 2.5 has a more elaborate reticular design on the side.  not sure if there is a few mm of difference in tolerance of the two caddy to slide in 7000 tower cage.

This is what I have ordered so far, I'm still on the fence about a CPU cooler and a different PSU. The one I am using has the 500w L500EPS-01 VFFKJ with the tall CPU cooler. My partners is a 260w PSU with the stock CPU cooler, and I don't know how much of a difference it will make when we put the GTX 1050 in theirs, it doesn't require a PSU plug on this model. I do have a GTX 1050 ti that does take a 6 PIN and am debating a larger PSU for it.

I think if you want to test 1050 Ti you could use a SATA to PCIe 6 pin adapter so that you don’t have to upgrade psu. Just be careful monitoring temperature of the adapter to prevent over heating.
