Optiplex 5060 sff display stuck at 640 x 480
Suddently the display changed to 640 x 480 and only lower resolution possible. I tried to upgrade driver to no luck. Then I tried the other DP port and it worked normally for a few hours but when I started again it also went to 640 x 480.
Then I installed an Nvidia NVS 310 and it worked fine for a short time but then the PC asked for restart. I did so and after that it freezes on booting.
After I removed the card again the PC is now working on original port.
I feel I am on borrowed time.
I have run a lot of diagnostics but no faults turning up.
Any suggestions? And shouldn't NVS 310 work?

What type of monitors are you using? We've had some of the older Dell monitors exhibit this problem on this model PC (as well as newer ones), and replacing the monitor seems to have resolved the issue.

It could be a corrupted Windows display adapter driver that went back to using Microsoft basic video adapter. Try do a clean install of Windows and leave it connected to internet. After some time Windows automatically DL Intel UHD graphics adapter

@JHPIT It is an old Dell monitor U2412M but I solved the problem by adding a Dell AMD Radeon R5 430 graphics card and installing latest driver for that card.

@JHPIT Updated: After about a week with the nev graphics card the display returned to 640x480 again. So I tried replacing the monitor as you suggested and so far is has been working well.
Thanks
