OptiPlex 7090 Ultra - Additional HDD/SSD/M.2
Hi, I ordered an OptiPlex 7090 Ultra with M.2 256GB PCIe NVMe Class 35 Solid State Drive, no additional hard drive. Am I able to add an additional HDD, SSD or M.2 later? Referring to the service manual, if HDD, it requires a HDD bracket, if M.2, it requires a daughter board. If I am to install a M.2 later, assume there is no way I can install without the daughter board. Can someone shed some light here? Is it possible to add the daughter board as separate purchase?

Not sure if you saw this part: Optiplex 7090 Ultra Installing Daughter Board
What I couldn't find though is if it's sold separate. May be change your order if it's not too late?

I asked Dell, too late to change since production was completed and awaiting shipment. Unfortunately, they are unable to advise further about this daughter board, even the part number. They advised to call after sales service for upgrade once receive the machine. If additional M.2 drive cannot be added due to the reason of daughter board is not sold separately or has dependency on the motherboard, too bad, I made a wrong choice. Dell should have flagged this during the purchase.

Is there a way a daughter board can be ordered separate for a 7090 Ultra, or is it only at the time of sale?

The SPMD (Spare Parts Master Database) does list it as, "For sale: No". So you will need to search the web for a 3rd party seller =

@DELL-Chris M , thank you very much on the part numbers. Need some clarity on 'not available for sale'. Does it mean Dell does not sell these to the customers even in the condition of hardware upgrade after purchase? In what condition that these parts can be sold?

Correct. The Dell spare parts team cannot sell them. You will have to search the web for a 3rd party seller.
