Optiplex 760 SFF Win7

My dad has an Optiplex 760 SFF with Win7 he uses to run older software.  (Not to worry, this is just one of his Dell's.)

Recently, he said it doesn't complete the boot process.  He already changed the battery.  I had him run Diagnostics and he says it finds an error, then shuts down.  Could it be a failed HDD or corrupted BIOS doing that?  Can BIOS be flashed?

I would not recommend flash bios.  tell senior to clear cmos settings by motherboard jumper.  then use a test blank hdd to clean install Win 7. if clean Win 7 boots fine, old hdd is corrupted or failed.

Thanks.  I won't recommend a clean Win7 install since it's too raw without the updates and it needs the appropriate drivers.  One idea is to test the 760 with a Win10 HDD.

Update:  The 760 does get to the point where it says date & time need setting.  But it won't let him set it.  Probably failing/corrupted BIOS/CMOS.  He's not interested in trying a different MB in the ol' thing.  So I told him how he could get his files off of his boot drive.

@redxps630  I finally was able to talk dad into resetting BIOS via the blue jumper.  But he can't find it.  I may have found it by pulling up MB images, but couldn't find an image clear enough to zoom in and see it for sure and see RTCRST pins.  Any way you can tell me where it is, notably with a clear image?

Brad, check out this eBay pic

RTCRST jumper pins are legible next to the small white Dell part number sticker.

@redxps630  Thanks for coming thru.  :)  I also tried pulling up eBay images, but didn't have any luck.

@redxps630  With the eBay link you gave, I was able to zoom in on the photo, screengrab it, zoom in on the screengrab, save and send it.
