Optiplex Plus 7020 sff: new GPU & PSU concerns
I have a 2024 Optiplex Plus 7020 sff. These models have a different motherboard than the 2023 and older Optiplex 7020. There is an i5-14500 cpu, and 16 GB ddr5 ram. I have a Asus dual rtx 3060 12 GB GPU ( not the TUF), connected via riser cable and is outside of the PC case. I also have a Dell 500w PSU (0y4cxg) rated 80 plus platinum. I have been told that the PC uses approximately 65w and the GPU uses 170w, under normal loads. When there is a heavy load the PC spikes to 154w, and the GPU to 340w. Combined that is 494 watts. Will my PSU be able to handle this setup? Is this dangerous, can it fry my computer/GPU? Thank you

It won't fry your PSU. PSU will trip if there's too much of a power draw.
However, it sounds like your PSU is being pushed to the limit. A 650w PSU would definitely be safer. An ATX PSU would have to sit outside of the case, which might not be a problem in your case with the GPU on the outside.
I don't know of a 650w PSU that will fit inside the case. It would probably have to be a Dell since they're so proprietary. Redxps630 will have an interior PSU to recommend if there is one.
