The legendary Dell Optiplex looking back at recent models
Optiplex 7000 tower, 7010 plus tower, 7020 plus tower are of same high end class, Intel 12/13/14 gen cpu
Optiplex 5000 tower is similar to 7000 with slightly lower end configuration
Optiplex 3010 tower, 7010 tower, 7020 tower are same low end class. all 3 models: 2 DIMM

I think it's strange (and confusing) that Dell started re-using some of the old models numbers for new models, right before they apparently mostly killed-off the well known Optiplex series name.
The re-used model names are for legacy models that were not really all-that-old and might even conceivably still be in operation in the field.

In terms of last Optiplex generation these 5 models use same chassis and share same hdd caddy
Optiplex 7080 tower
7090 tower
7000 tower
7010 tower plus
7020 tower plus

7080 7090 use TFX psu 83mm x 63mm x 220mm
7000 use SFX psu 120mm x 63mm x 185
both psu are 63 mm tall.
