Upgrade RAM OptiPlex 3040 to 16GB (2 per 8GB)
I have 3040 Mini Tower, trying to upgrade the RAM to 16GB, but after installing new RAMs the computer didnt boot and the power keep blinking with orange light.
New RAM specification 8GB DDR3 1600, GSTD38G 1600

Optiplex 3040 only support low voltage DDR3L. If you tried to install regular DDR3 ram, it is not supported.
GSTD38G appears to be regular DDR3
spec sheet: 2 Long DIMM slots; Non-ECC dual-channel 1600MHz DDR3L SDRAM, supports up to 16GB

low voltage DDR3L will work for 3040

again, these ram are not low voltage DDR3L. therefore, they are not supported in 3040.

i have to change it with DDR3L
