When Monitor Sleeps, OptiPlex Emits the Disconnect/Reconnect Sound Every 10 Seconds

Hi,

The issue described in the title occurs on every setup we have in our fleet that uses the following two products:

OptiPlex Micro Plus 7010

Dell P2422H Monitor

When the monitor initially goes to sleep, after 20 seconds the computer will start acting like a device has been disconnected and reconnected (sound), and will repeat it every 10 seconds after until the monitor is woken or the computer is restarted.

I have tried the following:

-Replaced DP cable

-Moved DP cable to each of the three ports on the back of the computer.

-Removed USB-B cable from Desktop and Monitor.

-Power cycled computer

-Tried different Intel UHD Graphics 770 drivers.

-Fully re-imaged the system.

-Fully updated system using Dell Command Updates and Windows Updates.

-Disabled “USB selective suspend setting” under the advanced power settings.

-Installed DDPM and checked the firmware of the Dell Monitor; no updates.

-Installed the Dell P2422H display driver.

-Removed wired mouse and keyboard.

-Changed BIOS video setting from “AUTO” to “ONBOARD VIDEO”.

-Issues persists on Windows 11 23H2 and 24H2.

-Power cycled monitor

-Factory reset the monitor.

-Disabled “Auto Select” on the monitor.

-Disabled DDC/CI on the monitor.

I'm not sure if the issue lies with the computer, the monitor, or both. But we need to find a permanent solution to this. Currently, the only roundabout solution we have is to disable the sound for a device connect/disconnect in the Windows Sound Settings.
