Wireless Keyboard and Mouse - KM5221W
Optiplex 7090 desktop
Dell Pro Wireless Keyboard and Mouse - KM5221W
Order 2 computers with the above keyboard/mouse.
Installed batteries, removed transmitter from mouse, installed into front of computer.
Mouse works fine.
Keyboard - when I turn the power switch on the keyboard, it will stay on for 2-3 seconds then turn out. Typing on the keyboard does not work.
Tried new batteries and different USB ports.
Both of the keyboards are acting the same way. Both mouse work.
Thought - does it matter if the keyboard and mouse that came together may have been switched with the other set? I had both sets on the table putting the batteries in and I didn't pay attention to which one came with what. Didn't think it mattered.
I know its a stretch that both keyboards are bad.

Dell is replacing the wireless keyboard/mouse combo's (2 sets).

One can try 1 mouse/transmitter with each of the keyboards and see if that's it.
Besides the aforementioned model number, any other numbers to match keyboard to mouse?
If mouse and keyboard share the same USB transmitter, mixing them up could be a culprit.
Also, does this happen with 1 PC in use or more than one in use? I ask in case signals are getting crossed, though they should be unique.
