Power edge 1900 Server Tower CPU Upgrade. System Halted! HELP

So I have recently been restoring and cleaning out and old 2006 Power edge 1900 and when I got it it was missing one cpu and only had one 1.86 ghz processor inside of it so I bought two Intel Xeon X5450 - 3 GHz (EU80574KJ080NT) SLASB SLBBE 1333 MHz (Socket: LGA 771 CPU) (from ebay) Is there any way I can get them to work together. My screen said that it was an incompatible CPU combination and then it said. System Halted!  Did I order the wrong ones? where can I find the correct 3.00Ghz processors for socket LGA 771/ Socket J. Thanks!

Hello

I don't show any 54xx CPUs in the part list of the 1900. The CPU that can be used may depend on the revision of the server. I suggest checking the documentation on the system support page. There is an information update document on the support page that states a mark II system is required for 5300 series CPUs.

Also, support for a family of CPUs does not mean every CPU in that family is supported. Skimming through the part list, it looks like the X5365 is the best CPU available. It is part number HP810.

Thanks

Must be MK III for 5400-series CPU's, and I don't believe the 1900 went past MK II ... only the 1950, 2900, and 2950.

Okay so the X5365 is the best cpu for the machine so I can get two of them for each socket and they will work right?

Yes, you can have two of them in the system.
