PowerEdge r520 stuck on configuring memory screen
I Have a PowerEdge r520 on bios version 2.5.1 (latest to date) service tag .
I have 4gb x 4 ram installed on a dual processor configuration (A1,A2 and B1,B2) for a total of 16gb (working server, booting normally)
I bought 16gb x 8 ram (16GB 2Rx3 PC3L - 12800R - 11- 11- E2 -D3) and installed it with this configuration (A1, A2, A3, A4) and (B1,B2,B3,B4) as the Manual says on page 45 (128Gb capacity).
When I turned the server on it hangs out on the screen "configuring memory", I left it for 12 hours straight and nothing.
I also tried pressing escape (ESC) several times and nothing happens.
Any Ideas?????
Regards
Agustin

Hello
You should be able to populate the memory in either slots 1-4 or 1,2 and 4,5 on both lanes. According to the memory guidelines 1-4 would be the optimal configuration.
If the new memory you installed is not working then it is either faulty or incompatible. I suggest testing with fewer modules to try to narrow down the problem.
Thanks
