R640 - UEFI0147
After removing CPU2 and it's memory modules I got this message:
UEFI0147
The system hardware or cabling configuration is invalid.
Do the following: 1) Make sure the system cables, risers, and CPU configuration are installed correctly. 2) Reseat each PCIe riser and reconnect the cables. For more information, see the system Owner's Manual.
I cleared NVRAM, but the message is still there. What I managed to get is to boot into system by disabling wait for F1/F2 on error.
Is there a way to get rid of this message other than putting back CPU2?

When Riser 2 is installed on R640 having second CPU is mandatory.

Do you have any PCIe cards in any of the slots?

Only the dual 10G SFC card that came with the server. This message appeared after I removed CPU2 and its RAM.
There should be some option to "confirm" current HW config but I could not find it.

Hi,
Can you give more details on the server like how many drive way supported on the chassis? Can you also confirm whether you have 2 Riser on the server? If you have 2 Riser can you remove riser in Riser 2 slot and check the behavior? You can refer below link for more details on Riser slot 2

Hi,
The server has 4x3.5" SATA drive bays. Riser-2 is present, removing riser-2 the message goes away. Clearly the system detects riser-2 installed on CPU2 socket, but CPU is not present and gives error message.
Is there a way to keep riser-2 installed (airflow reasons), but without error message and CPU2 present?
