Any way to speed up physical disk clear action?
Hello everyone,
I made the mistake of mailing out 3 disks that had raids setup on them. I want to minimize downtime on this machine and I am not realizing that it is going to take hours to clear them (They are showing up as foreign).
Is there anything I can do or is the downtime inevitable?
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Depending on your hardware and OS, you could clear multiple disks in parallel.
You'll be limited by disk and storage interface, obviously.

Ok. That would help. I'm running a dell r630 with idrac 8? Do you know if that supports multiple disks in parallel? I only have one PERC H730P raid controller. Thanks

@hendr1x420 BHT is a tool for testing drives, but part of the process is to overwrite every block of the drive.
See it in use here: https://youtu.be/9bh5ZK8z4ZA?si=pWsJ41i2YIzbCRvw
