Dell EMC R440 Replace Optical Drive with 2 hdd drives

Yes, it's possible to replace the optical drive in a Dell EMC PowerEdge R440 with a dual 2.5" HDD/SSD caddy.  Once you have the correct caddy, installation is generally straightforward, involving unscrewing the optical drive and securing the caddy in its place.

@Dell-Martin S do you have any docs that would indicate how that would be done? I would think that an R440 system that has an optical drive in place would have a different backplane and drive bay  configuration than a system that had hdd drives in that same location. The optical drive is directly cabled to the system board as well.
