Need Help Urgently

Hello,  I'm getting this error where you would normaly select the drive to install the OS:

"We couldn't find any drives.  To get a storage driver.

The system is a Dell PowerEdge R750 with two drives, with a RAID-1 for the OS, successfully created with Life Cycle Controller.  I have a USB drive inserted with the ISO image on it created using Rufus 4.6 .  The OS begins to install normally but when its time to select the drive to install the OS, there is nothing showing and so the error message.

I’ve tried different ways to install the OS such as through iDrac, but always get the same issue.  I presume it is a driver issue but can’t seem to install them.  I’ve tried that too with  Life Cycle Controller.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Salif

If you have a PERC you need to create a VD on a Disk(Raid)Group and select "FastInit" to be sure that the VD  created so that a OS can see a Volume. Otherwiese you need to wait until the creation of the RAID is finished. But this is only  imporated when dealing with RAID 5/6  and spinning Disks and not when having a RAID1 and SSD.  But you have to check this.

If youre installing an OS than the OS needs a driver for every peace of Hardware.  You haven told us what kind of OS (i assume Window Server).  There is a challange when try to install a old OS on a newer Hardware... its unlikely that an old OS haver everthing on board.   If you dont want to use the inbuild OS_Package from the LCC check if dell.com offer a driver for your PERC and the given Windows Version and inject this during the installation.  In the Early Days this was F5 within the MS Installier.

Hi,

Yes, I also suspected the driver. Please could you tell us which OS you are trying to install? And Which PERC do you have? Because it can depend on which driver for which PERC. Also please check on your BIOS settings. And I can recommend OS installation via LCC. It is more easier, it included OS drivers. Please try like this, first update "Dell OS Driver Pack" from here https://dell.to/4981f8t

Then follow up steps in that video How to Install OS using Lifecycle Controller Unattended Installation mode using USB Drive

Hope that helps!
