RAC0689 Error Unable To Create Disk
Hello, I'm currently trying to add additional storage to a Dell PowerEdge R620 server. I have a 1TB HDD datastore that I want to expand. On this datastore is a file server that is currently down. The server is a Windows server with plenty of disk space, however, VMWare keeps shutting down the server because there is no space left on the disk. I have added a 1TB HDD drive and am attempting to create a virtual disk so that I can expand the original 1TB HDD datastore.
When I try to create a virtual disk I get an RAC0689 error. The solution that I've found online is that I need to enable the Lifecycle controller and reboot the server. However, we currently have critical servers running on this Dell PowerEdge R620, which is preventing me from being able to reboot the server.
Is there any way around this RAC0689 error? I really need to add this additional space.
Also, I'm not familiar with LifeCycle controller and I'm afraid enabling the LifeCycle controller as it could affect the other storage and virtual machines.
Please help, thank you!

Hello thanks for choosing Dell and welcome to our community.
You need to reboot, I'm afraid.
