Virtual Windows Server 2016 crashes after enabling Search Service

Posted this question on TechNet forums. Recommended to contact MS. But before I do so, I would value your opinion?

Hyper-V 2016 core host runs on Dell R7415 server. Two virtual machines running Server 2016. Been running for months without problems. A couple of weeks ago, I switched on the Search Service on one of them. This service is disabled by default. The reasons mentioned in that article don't apply to our situation, so I saw no problem in switching the service on. A couple of hours later, the VM hang with BSOD. Could not restart it with Hyper-V manager. I had to reboot the physical server to get it running again. Within 15 minutes, it again stalled. Another reboot required. And again, within 30 minutes, it hang. Yet another reboot and after switching the search service off, no more hanging. The System log reads 'bugcheck-0xa-0x1a-0xbe'. No other errors logged.

Ran Nirsoft BlueScreenView and it reports IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL in ntoskrnl.exe. Ran SFC against 'ntoskrnl.exe' but it doesn't find anything wrong with it.

Any ideas what could cause this?

You cannot use that on virtual because kernel security fails when you turn that on.

This is why the service is disabled by default.

Neither Dell nor Microsoft is going to support it.
