MD1420 + MD3420
Our enterprise is planning to buy a PowerVault MD3420. We already have a MD1420, with 2 Virtual Disks, connected to a PE R730 with a PERC H830. My questions are:
- Can we use the PERC H830 to connect the MD3420 to the server?
- Will the virtual disks be kept or are they going to be erased when we connect the MD1420 to the MD3420?
- What cables (Part#) do we need?
- If we are going to need a new card, what cards can we use?

Hi,
You will need a Non raid controller since the MD3420 has its own controllers. This is the part number for the SAS controller. 405-AADZ. I do not see a way to import the virtual disk from a PERC to an MD3420.
