Dell 5820 PCI lanes
Hi,
I have a question about Dell 5820 PCI lanes.
when there are two nvme in the frontbay, is the first pcie 8x port disabled?
which pcie slots are managed by the chipset and which are managed by the cpu?
if anyone knows because I didn't find answers to these questions in the documentation and manual

Hello,
no, the pci-e slots on the motherboard are not influenced by having or not both front bays used

Hi, thank you for your answer,
except that nvme are always using pcie ports
and it is common to have pcie ports disabled on motherboards when you have more than one nvme

Hi,
in theory it should not be an issue in this case, since the board should have been designed accordingly
