Will a 5820 tower accept an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090?
I'd like to confirm that the 5820 tower will accept one of the new GeForce RTX 3090 cards once they are released. The 950 W power supply seems sufficient, so I think it would just come down to dimensions. The size of the card is 12.3" (313 mm) x 5.4" (138mm) x 3 slots (from https://www.nvidia.com/en-gb/geforce/graphics-cards/30-series/rtx-3090/). I don't mind if I can't get the case's side back on, as long as I can run it safely.
Failing this, does anyone know if the 5820 will take one of the GeForce RTX 3080 cards that were just released? Maybe someone has already tried to do this.

The Founders Edition Geforce RTX 3080 will fit with no issues (Some larger cards might have issues fitting.
The Founders Edition Geforce RTX 3090 should fit.... You might need to remove the Workstation GPU stabilizer bracket because of the card length. Your 950W PSU will be powerful enough for a single RTX 3090.

Now that the RTX 3090 and RTX 3080 cards are out in the wild....
The best card for space conservation is the EVGA XC3 series. It is still a very long card, but the height is low enough to fit inside some of the less spacious interiors (for example the Precision T7600, T7610 and 7910). And the card is just a hair over 2 slots thick. As long as you buy the base model (RTX 3090 = 24G-P5-3971-KR or the RTX 3080 10G-P5-3881-KR) there is no backplate installed. So you might be able to squeeze 2 RTX 3090 cards in your workstation with the 2 slot NV-Link.

1) Can you confirm that two of these cards would fit into a 5820 given the pcie slot config and would the 950W PSU supply enough juice to run them with NVLink at full tilt? If not, is there any way to upgrade the PSU?
2) There is a post on here that suggests that a 3090 is too big for the 5820 chassis. It won't let me paste the link, but please look for and and confirm whether that's correct.

Hi, sorry to barge in but 2 rtx 3090s or 3080s might require a bit over 1000 w .. I wanted to install 2 3080s in the future and I have a pretty good deal on this tower .. is it possible to install a new power supply of 1200 w ??
