Does the Samsung 990 PRO NVMe M.2 2280 4TB SSD WITH Heatsink fit in a Thin Chassis Dell Precision 7680 ?

Does the Samsung 990 PRO NVMe M.2 2280 4TB SSD WITH Heatsink fit in a Thin Chassis Dell Precision 7680 with two slots of SSD?

I'd like to upgrade my Precision storage.

Currently it includes one of size 512 GB.

Thanks!!

:)

No, it will not fit -- it will only fit a desktop system (that's what the SSDs with attached heatsinks are designed for).

How about without the HeatSink?

That should be no problem.

I'd be careful with the Samsung SSDs. I bought two 2TB 990Pro's for my Precision 7780 and both has failed after a few days (even after Samsung replaced one of them).  They show up at first, then after a while just disappear.  I get Event ID 157 (Disk x has been surprised removed).  Trying to get to the bottom of this currently.  I'm wondering if it is a heat issue. Sometimes, but not always, if I power it down and wait an hour or so, they will show back up.  Nothing in the Magician software, would think if it was heat, it would report it there.

I've used Samsung SSDs ever since they came out in Dell's without any issues.  This one has me shook.
