Issue with Charging Dell Precision 5560 After Complete Battery Drain
Hello there. I have an issue with my Dell Precision 5560 laptop. When the battery is completely discharged the original charger does not start charging the battery. The device won't start when pressing the power button either. However, when I connect a Samsung phone charger (40 W) for a few seconds, the white charging LED turns on, and I can then switch to the original Dell charger, which continues charging the battery.
Does anyone know what might be causing this issue and how it can be resolved?
Thanks.

You can likely resuscitate the system by holding the power button for 30 seconds with the adapter disconnected and then powering up again.
That said, a few of these "completely discharged" states will quickly destroy the battery.

@ejn63 thanks. I'll try that out and let you know whether that resolved the issue or not.

In my experience, original chargers take time to charge.
You should charge your laptop with the original charger and leave it for a while (in case it is fully discharged). After a while remove the charger and turn on your laptop.
Fast charging with a Samsung charger could harm the battery life of your laptop.

@ejn63 Thank you! Your solution actually worked like a charm for the issue I described. Fingers crossed it won’t decide to breakdance again
