m4800 upgrade suggestions?
Hi All. I've ordered a used Dell M1200 video card (45W). Since the laptop will be open, I'm wondering what can/should be replaced. It's Windows 10 (1909). Fans, battery, 512 SSD and other hardware seem to be working well. CPU is i7-4810MQ - way to expensive to upgrade for little gain. I think 16 GB RAM will hold me for a while. Thanks, JB

If you want more storage space you can install a MSATA SSD into the WWAN/MSATA port.
I would replace one or both RAM stick with an exact matching set.
If you have a Core i5 or dual core i7, you can get a big performance boost by upgrading to a quad core i7
Check the Wifi card specs and upgrade to a Wireless AC card if needed.
The DVD drive can be upgraded to a Blu-Ray drive or to an extra HDD bay.

Thanks again James. The wifi card is tagged as model AC 7260HMW - seems to perform well but I'll take a look at alternatives. The processor is the i7-4810mq (pretty powerful) so will stick with it for now.
