Driver for Laser Printer 1710n for MacOS Catalina

Hello, I am running MacOS Catalina 10.15.7. and have downloaded the Driver '1710 Mac Driver' with Drivers for Classic, 10.2., 10.3 and 10.4. from

DELL Site for Printer

https://www.dell.com/support/product-details/de-de/product/dell-1710n/drivers

DELL Download Link for Zip-packed Driver

https://dl.dell.com/FOLDER00396866M/1/1710%20Mac%20Drivers.zip?uid=6c91613d-a641-43d1-4606-26d13a3a9c0a&fn=1710%20Mac%20Drivers.zip

My MacOS tells me that the file is corrupt. I tried all 4 versions.

Thank you for any help.

Kind Regards,
Tobias

Dell printer support ended years ago -- it's a 15 year old printer after all.

See if Apple has a universal driver that will work, or a CUPS or IPP driver -- Dell won't for a printer as old as this one.

Hey Tobias,

Those Dell 1710 drivers are super old, they were made for Mac OS 10.4 (Tiger) and just won’t work on Catalina. That’s why your Mac says the file’s corrupt. Best bet is to use the printer with a generic driver: go to System Preferences → Printers & Scanners → + → Add Printer, then choose Generic PCL or Generic PostScript. It should print fine for basic stuff.
