Is the REALLY true, that NO Macs can use Dell printers? A number, (if not all) Dell printers are actually OEM printers from another printer manufacturer, like perhaps LexMark. I don't know about the specific "Dell" printer you mentioned, who makes it for Dell, but there are over 40 Lexmark printers on the list of PowerPrint that are "PC" printers -- among the total of 1600 -- that are "classical" parallel printers that can use either their "serial" cable or the USB cable along with their printer drivers, that make them accessable to Macs. If Dell does not provide drivers, perhaps the OEM has drivers, either for their "native mode" or some of the printers that the emulate. But you must be MUCH more specific as to the ports you have on both your Mac and you "Dell" printer. If you get specific, maybe someone can help you, especially if you can name the printer OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer).
William-the-Scott is probably right about Dell's 922 Printer, for among the 422 "all-in-one printers" on eBay at this moment, there are 10 other 922's and 1 older 920, all of which, of course, are USB devices. The the prices are so cheap on many of the other all-in-ones -- many of which like the Lexmarks and the Brothers, among others, -- do work on both Mac and IBM. They are so cheap, consider getting one of them, rather than spending, say, $99 for a PowerPrint solution that may not work either.
Yea, i called dell and they told me there are no drivers for Mac operators. I had an old HP printer, hooked it up and it worked fine. I was just trying to avoid having two printers out all the time. Thanks for the feedback.
