Purchase Dell Migrate

Apologies for the late response.  I just noticed no one had replied to your question.

I might be wrong, but I understood that Dell Migrate is now built in to Dell SupportAssist and can be used free of cost for Inspiron, G Series, XPS, and Alienware PCs in most English-speaking regions. Go to https://www.dell.com/en-us/lp/global-dell-migrate and select your region - this will either direct you to a Dell Migrate User Guide that explains how to run Dell Migrate from SupportAssist, or it will provide instructions for purchasing the Dell Migrate service in your non-English region.

If you live in a region where Dell Migrate is included with SupportAssist see the section titled "Dell Migrate Overview" in the Dell SupportAssist for PCs v4 User Guide.  Illustrated step-by-step instructions are available in the support article How to Use the Dell Migrate Tool to Migrate and Erase Data, which includes a full list of prerequisites for both computers. The Dell Data Assistant utility that must be installed on the old computer you are transferring data FROM will also run through a series of pre-checks to ensure your old computer meets the minimum system requirements (e.g., any PC with Win 7 or higher; erase and reset only supported on old PCs running Win 8.1 or higher).

NOTE: I did not use Dell Migrate to transfer my personal files to my Inspiron 5584 when I purchased this laptop in 2019 (I just copied my data over from an external backup drive) and I no longer have SupportAssist installed on my system so I doubt I'll be able to assist with troubleshooting if any of my comments above are incorrect.
