If you use the "extract" funktion of the update you will get "payload" folder and within there is the needed firmimg.d7 file.  The cmd utility "racadm" from the iDrac Tools (just download the latest version from a R760 for example) can upgrade the iDRAC also.

racadm -r <iDRAC IP address> -u <username> -p <password> update —f c:\temp\foobar\firmimg.d7

If you click on "older version" you get a link list with all older versions. Just start with the oldest and see if this works.

All updates for 12Gen are revoked from all dell  online catalogs so OME, OMIVV and even iDRAC it self cant update in an easy way anymore.

The "platform ISO" are also revoked. It was a bootable linux which contains all latest FW upgrades for your given server model.  Maybe you can create a ISO with the old Dell Update Manager.

Joerg

Hi,

To use the firmimg.d7, you can download the file format stated: An application. It is a zipped application file.

You have a 12Gen R620 Host.  The latest iDRAC/LCC is https://dl.dell.com/FOLDER06110107M/1/iDRAC-with-Lifecycle-Controller_Firmware_0GHF4_WN64_2.65.65.65_A00.EXE

You missed around 20 idrac updates.. Im not sure if you can jump from 1.0.0 to the latest in one step.

I cant. its gotta be in steps.

One of the memebers mentioned something about a platform specific ISO bootable to another user that was having the same issues as me but that file is no longer available and it had worked for that user.

Dell-Stefan R "You decide for the platform-specific bootable ISO: https://dell.to/3iAn4CL"

Hello,

It might that you're using the .exe file instead of the firmimg.d7 file. For older iDRAC version, you will need to use the firmimg.d7 to update iDRAC. Also, encountered other users in post that the downloads might not be completed. Just check the MD5, SHA1, or SHA-256 value of the downloaded .exe file after completion.
