CLR vs mirrorview

can I use CDP as my local protection, and replicate source LUN to remote storage by mirrorview?
or I "must" use CLR to build my DR environment when I have CDP?
by the way, I am using clariion splitter.....

You could use Mirrorview to replicate your source lun to remote, but the recommended way would be to use CLR for more benefits.

Are you MV Sync or async?

Both local and remote copies of your data will have roll-back, with snapshots.
You will also have WAN compression and bandwidth reduction
Ability to natively stream your data over IP to your remote array.

Cheers

I have a question, if I have a FC-IP router(like 7500B),which also have compression function. Which one is better?

If I can said that, choosing MV or CRR is base on the need of recovery of anytime?

We have not done any comparative tests between a hardware compression router/WAN box and RecoverPoint, so I can't say.

I do know with RP, you would not need one of these routers/compression boxes as compressions is performed on the RPA.

MV or CRR, yes agreed one (but not the only) of the main advantages of RP over MV is point in time recovery.
