I have seen people replicate SQL Db's that are ~500 GB in size. The Sync process takes some time, but it successfully completes.

I have also seen people replicate TB's of data. Sometimes in 1 Spec and sometimes in several.

I suppose there is no hard limit on the number of files or size of a file. The larger factor here is what kind of connection exists between the Source and target to be able to accomplish the replication in a timely manner.
