Need to change IP Ports

I know that you must have all of the participating servers(sites) in a replistor replication group assigned with the same IP port numbers default 7144 and 7145. The question is that I read in a replistor doc that if you have more than one replication group (an independent group of sites) you must set that other group to a different pair of ports. Did I read that correctly? And we in fact have two separate groups of servers running replistor.
