Replistor and Autostart

Hi,

I am using Autostart 5.3 with the Replistor 6x data source. Currently on my Replistor setup, I am using the SQL 2005 module to do the mirroring. I am using Autostart for the managed IPs capability. As I understand, the SQL module basically create the specs and alias, which I am not using anyway.

My question is should I recreate all the specs from Autostart and delete the one in Replistor since Autostart wants circular mirroring?

Thanks,

Todd

It is ok that you get messages about Circluar MIrroring in RepliStor. Since you are using RepliStor Data Sources, AutoStart will be responsible for ensuring that only 1 set of Spec's are enabled at one point in time.

If you re-create them via AutoStart, you will see the Spec's get created on the other node if you move the Resource Group.

Thanks for the reply. I do have a follow up question as to whether I even need to use the SQL module built within Replistor at all for this or just create the specs within Autostart and use Autostart to stop and start all the SQL services.

Thanks in advance.

You can take advantage of the RepliStor module to get the Spec definitions created. Then go to AutoStart and add them as Data Source there.

Do not create the Alias via the RepliStor module when asked to do so.
