iDRAC8 Cannot attach Virtual Media despite it being enabled and on auto-attach
I am encountering an issue with an R630 I received with iDRAC8 where virtual media is essentially completely unavailable.
1. The Server > Attached Media page should have all fields correct with Virtual media being enabled, and tested with both "Attach" and "Auto-Attach". Reboots occurred on both for testing as well. The same config is also present on the BIOS screen as well.
2. Upon attaching any virtual media using Server > Attach Media from any source, I receive the following alert despite other iDRAC systems on the same network having no issue at all.
3. When attempting to mount an iso using the Java or HTML console, I get the following message when clicking "Connect Virtual Media". This seems incorrect, because as shown in number 1, all of these settings are already enabled.
At this point I am fairly certain this is a hardware related issue, but wanted to check in and see if this has a solution first. I am running out of troubleshooting ideas.

Hi,
For (1), the settings are pretty standard. I've checked on the test server, exact similar.
Here's what I did and I'm not getting any error. I went to Virtual Console > Launch Virtual Console.
After the console launched, I'll go to Virtual Media > Map CD/DVD to load the ISO image eg: ESXi customized ISO (https://www.dell.com/supportome/en-my/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=gn51y&oscode=w12r2&productcode=poweredge-r730). After clicking Map Device, I am able to launch the OS installation from boot menu.
Have you already updated iDRAC/LCC firmware to the latest?

@DELL-Joey C
Hi Joey, thanks for reaching out. This was already tested on both HTML5 and Java virtual consoles as shown in 3 on my original post, here are screenshots of proof of errors following your steps when Clicking the Virtual Media option.
Here is also a screenshot of my current firmware version, which I believe is the latest.

Hi,
I read that you have already checked that the Attach Mode, hence I won't be confirming to make sure it on Auto or Attach.
The virtual media attachment, uses port 5900, can you check if the SSL certification is showing when you enter idrac.ip:5900 in the browser and it should show a white page with SSL prompt.
Have you already tried soft resetting iDRAC by using RACADM? https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-my/000126703/how-to-reset-the-internal-dell-remote-access-controller-idrac-on-a-poweredge-server. If soft reset doesn't help, try hard reset. This is reset the iDRAC to factory.
Also, have you tried on another system's browser and multiple browsers?
