If you only need Severity 1 and 2 alerts then you could make a copy of the OOB alert and remove the other two severities from the email alert notification. Disable the original alert so you have it for reference and then enable the newly copied email alert showing only the two Severity levels (1,2) and see if that drops the email notifications you receive.

Thanks for the reply. Here's what i have done so far

Already tried the following

- Disabled all alerts under Alert definitions --> EMC M&R Health

- Disabled all alerts under Alert definitions --> EMC VNX Alert definitions

but i'm still getting email alerts on

Device Type: FileServer

Severity: 3

Source: VNXFile-Collector-GenericEvent

where should i look further to enable/disable alerts

That Sounds like that maybe from the Alert Consolidation Email Notification, it basically forwards any event that is Severity 1 to 3, try disabling to make sure that its the culprit; if so you can always edit it to remove severity 3 events.
