Kaspersky replaced itself!
Without any warning, Kaspersky, which was banned in the US, suddenly replaced their antiviral software on PCs with UltraAV from Pango. That means they were able to take total control over the PC to uninstall their software and install new software without the user's knowledge or permission. Makes one wonder what other permissions/access they may have had to view whatever else is stored on the PC while doing this...
Not much is known about UltraAV software or the deal Pango made to take over customers and subscriptions from Kaspersky. And there's little/no info on Pango's potential ongoing relationship for providing data to Kaspersky or a foreign government, which is what got Kaspersky into trouble in US.
Read more here. And if you got migrated, it may be time to uninstall UltraAV and use Windows Defender or a AV product from a company you may trust...
