Norton Security Reinstall issue

We had to FDISK our machine and reload software. The problem was that the Norton Software disk had no activation key label on it.  (Lost, missplaces, who know's). I called Symantec and they told me to call Dell. Dell wants to charge me a fee for software support. This computer is only 8 months old.  Any suggestions?
Thanks

I have a similar problem in that I need to reinstall Norton Internet Security. On this forum I found out that you might get Dell to send the Dell Tools CD containing Norton Internet Security. I have sent Dell an email asking for the CD. (We'll see what happens.)

I sent an email to Dell from the support web site, including my address, and received a response that included this hopeful message: "A request has been submitted to ship the necessary replacement CD directly to you for installation."

When I sent the email, I selected the "Missing/Wrong/Damage" category. I tried a couple of weeks ago to get help from Dell for this issue via the phone, and they said to contact Symantec. I did, but Symantec was no help.

Thanks,  I'll give that a try. Did you call or email Dell for that CD?

I have tried the same thing with Symantec.  I called and got the response that since it was shipped from Dell as a purchased item (the 15 month Norton Antivirus), then they could not help me. The time we have spent on the phone and trying to fix this problem has far exceeded the cost of buying the software over again, which, if I have to do that, will not be from Dell or any other Symantec item.
