I passed it two years ago, I think it's better to attend training provided by EMC. It called Symmetrix Configuration Management. Now it sounds like Symmetrix Infrastructure Solution. The certification covers majority of Symmetrix related concepts and host software Solutions Enabler & Unisphere for VMAX configuration task.
i have the video material with me. i think you are talking about this as training. is that right?
please help me in what way i can clear this exam.

I suggest going for the training that is available as just the videos may not be enough. That way you can have your doubts cleared by the Instructor, added to that you will have labs to practice the theory.
The video is good you can start with video first. But like Tandok said, if you have doubts about the contents, you'd better to attend the training and instructor can answer your question about the material. BTW, There is a practice test about E20-517 as below. Before you go , you can test it once. But the question in that practice test is not enough, only for fresh memory about the materials.
Ensure you are having all the latest materials (as there was lot of changes from 5876 ) and you are covering them properly. Once done, going through the practice test will let you check your knowledge.
if any one wrote the exam this year ? please let know what are the topic they covered
and also any other practice exam is possible to be make sure that i can clear the exam.

i find it very alarming, you are studying for the specialist exam while you are clearly lacking very basic knowledge about EMC platforms. Have you run any symcli commands in your storage career ?

Make sure you learn and complete all the Exam Topics given in the Exam Description of the E20-517.
Then you can use the practise tests available at https://education.emc.com/guest/certification/exams.aspx to assess your knowledge and readiness to write the exam.

yes. but the link just gives the vmax types and description and not the earlier storage . which is vnx, dmx, nx4 ,cx4, etc.
i believe you could understand it now.
and also please let know does vmax has NAS implement on it ?
because from my knowledge i could say it only supports block level storage.
